Each Day

by Masked   Nov 6, 2005

Each day we learn,
We cram in fright.
The books are open
Day and night.

And for our dreams
Of future wealth
We'll cancel youth
We'll risk our health.

There are those days,
The days of fun.
We all go out,
But then we're done.

A speck in time,
A time of joy.
But soon its over,
Means of decoy.

Our friends get older,
Departure starts.
And soon we're
Simple broken parts.

But there's no time,
Career's a must.
With lack of money
Life's unjust.

And now we're older,
We have a spouse.
We need more money,
We'll need a house.

Each day we work,
With lack of fun.
The bills won't stop,
Soon we'll be done.

But soon is late,
Our kids have grown.
We are so tired,
We are alone.

Our friends are older,
Departure starts.
And as they die,
It breaks our hearts.

We've worked our lives,
We are free slaves.
And now joy starts,
We rest in graves.
