Why Me?

by Caity   Nov 6, 2005

A daughter without a mother
is like a heart without a beat
one normally doesn't exist without the other one

a daughter without a mother
is like a thorn-less rose
a fragile being with nothing to protect it as it grows

a daughter without a mother
and a deadbeat runaway as a father
has life a tid bid rougher
even though everyone thinks she's just getting tougher

all this daughter without a mother
wants is a sense of being
reassurance this is where
she should be somewhere she belongs

a daughter without a mother
usually Crys to sleep at night
doesn't even bother to open her bedroom door
because she knows no one will come in to tell her she's alright

a daughter needs a mother
it's the way it should be
out of all the girls in the world
God, why did it have to be me?
