Fall

by skarrlette   Nov 6, 2005

The path long and dirty
scattered with branches by
faraway tropical winds
i see golden paper everywhere
they line the dirty pathway, i smell burning leaves in the distance
i know mother nature is everywhere, i see her shadow behind trees
she walks toward me with her arms outstretched
her long green flowing gown and her ruby red lips, framed by reddish
brown curly, windswept hair
there are black and orange butterflies everywhere
she keeps coming and coming and then walks through me
her essence all over me
i am breathless

crows caw they fly
away with my dreams
i stare up up a the grey sky
and watch my dreams from the life of summer go with them
water streams down my face burns my heart

they take my spirit with them on there wings. to a far distant place where i can't
get to them
that was the last of what i had
now there is just a shell
i walk the pathway and feel so alone
but filled with solitude for she is here with me
