Friendship

There's no true definition
No book or song to sing
That can explain the fun and sorrows
This thing called "friendship" brings

But this is my explanation
Of what true friendship is
Whether it be given from him to her
Or sending feelings from her heart to his

It's caring for one another
Developing faith and trust alike
And helping a friend in time of need
Instead of telling then to take a hike

It's understanding there individual ways
For no two people are the same
Friendships like a fire, hard to build
But so easy to put out the flame

It's excepting a friends mistakes or faults
That most all of us have made,
It's saying I'm sorry to a friend you've hurt
And letting the hatred fade.

Whether making a person laugh or smile,
Or bringing them to tears
Remember friendship's a gift of God
Passed down by people like you through the years.
