Tennessee Lady

by Eyes_Of_Rain   Nov 7, 2005

Tennessee Lady
Standing by her man
Proud to be his only love
She does all for him that she can.

Tennessee Lady
Sharp mind of your own
Doesn't care what others think
Let the ignorant cast their petty stones.

Tennessee Lady
Raised loyal, and true
Gives her all to her family
Holding them together, she is the glue.

Tennessee Lady
Most always sweet and kind
But just let somebody mess with her
Then she is a hellcat, meanest you can find.

Tennessee Lady
Though the world thinks you strange
Calling you an unsophisticated hill-billy
You're smart enough to not care, nor to change.

Tennessee Lady
Raised on cornbread and soup beans
Made fun of because we like those country things
And that's why this southern girl looks good in her jeans.
