Teardrop Lullaby

by Rusted x Heart   Nov 7, 2005

So let this veil of secrecy,
Be laid upon the night,
Isolate me from beating hearts,
So chaos can be quiet.

The slight whispering of sadness,
Within me resonates,
Reminding me of emotion,
Whilst lying here I break.

The glimpse of my own suffering,
Exhales the pain inside,
Releasing all the fear within,
That which I cant deny.

The darkened sky lets light seep through,
A teardrop of the stars,
Constellations of solitude,
Imitate life's own scars.

In my own corner of the world,
I cry myself to sleep,
This constant teardrop lullaby;
The entrance to my dreams.

"my" not "me" correction for above comment. In my haste to comment, I forgot check before hitting the magic button! :)

Great choice of words and like others, I loved the last stanza. The title though is what captured me attention to read as I skimmed through the long list of available poems. Being curious ... I had to stop and see! Nice work.
