Black Tears

by the one you forgot   Nov 8, 2005

I think of you and
The tears pour out.
Wipe them away,
But my black tears still show.
I think of the hurt you caused, and
My black tears come out.
Wipe them away,
But the show like telltale scars.
There for all the world to see.
But only you and I know why they
Show so much and
Cut so deep.

Smudge my eyes,
Black my tears.
The pain cuts so deep.
Is my heart as black as my tears?
Is my soul as black as my tears?

Why did you hurt me so?
The scars are there,
Why do you open the wounds?
You always do.
Open wounds,
They are your trademark.
Me,
I am your victim.
Scars, scabs,
They are the only thing you leave behind.
The only things I can remember you
By.

Black tears run down my face.
I see you in my dreams,
Do you see me in your nightmares?
Do you look back on the people you hurt?
Do you wonder how they changed?
Do you wonder if they ever found a Band-Aid
To cover the pain you caused?
I look at you,
Staring ahead, eyes so cold.
I wipe away my black tears, cover up my
Scars.
All because of you.
The bruises they fade.
The cuts, they heal.
The scars, they diminish.
My black tears, will they ever wash off?
Black tears, how I remember you.
By my black tears.
