With The Rain

by Katie Bennett   Nov 8, 2005

I walk through the rain with heartache and pain
From the one I loved and lost
Rain drops drip, my heart, it rips
From the burden of loves true cost
I stand in the street, wet from head to feet
Acheing in my own sorrow
In the past, I wanted love to last
Now I'm just waiting to see tomorrow
It seems as though, as the rain, it flows
It washes away this hurtful pain
It cleanses my soul and makes me feel whole
As my troubles flow down that drain
And in the sky as the rain subsides
The sun peers from behind a cloud
Not only did the rain wash away my pain
But it dissolved all worries and doubts
And so it is true, I say this to you
So you, too, can be free from pain
Whenever you're acheing from your bleeding heart breaking
Let your sorrow wash away with the rain
