Shades of Grey

by Kaos   Nov 9, 2005

We live in a world of ash
A world of only grey
Where time is the only rule
That ticks away the days

These shades of grey surround us
And mist over our eyes
Hiding all the problems
From our fragile sight

And so we walk aimlessly
Throughout this world of lies
Until our time is wasted
We seethe, collapse and die

I really like this one.I love gray poems-the sad and melancholy and fog and the ambiguity that it suggests(have a few Gray poems myself).Just a suggestion but in the last line you use seethe which suggests anger, I'd go with something like fading or drifting or disappearing-something more in mood with the rest of the poem.Just a thought.Really excellent piece though.
