Hidden Desperation

I don't know where I'm going
I'm starting to lose all hope
Every day that goes by without you
Makes it harder to cope
I fake a smile come each morning
And keep my tears hidden deep
Going through the same routine
Waiting till I can see you in my dreams
They all stand back and watch
Admiring how I seem so strong
I hear them whisper in the distance
How does she go on?
I try to distract myself
In desperation to make it through
But I catch myself lost in thought
- lost in thought of you
I feel the pain engulf me
Sometimes its almost too much to bear
And just when I think I cant miss you any more
I turn and expect to see you there
I cant find peaceful sleep at night
My bed feels so empty and cold
The nightmares bring me down baby
I need you there to hold
I don't know how much longer
Ill be able to survive this endless pain
Wondering if you're safe my love
Oh how I need you home again
I run from their comfort
My tears I will continue to hide
They all think Ill make it
But I'm slowly dying inside...
