Although the fall will kill me

by xRachelx   Nov 9, 2005

I stand on top of a building,
Eleven stories high.
Below me awaits the concrete,
Whilst above me is the sky.

The rain drops caress me,
As they fall toward the ground.
The only things that'll touch me,
And don't flinch when I'm around.

Yeah cause I'm that person you hear about,
The one that everybody hates.
The girl who's as ugly as hell,
And never gets asked on dates.

The girl who's parents even despise her,
And wish that she hadn't been born.
And prove their point by beating her,
Until shes bleeding and torn.

Yeah I'm the one with the bruised body,
And the wrists that are covered in cuts.
The one who lives in a dream world,
Cause her life's so totally messed up.

I look over the edge of the building,
And it takes my breath away.
And I finally realize, Its over,
I'm ending my life today.

I have to jump so i can escape,
I don't really want to die.
Cause although the fall will kill me,
At least for a moment I will fly...

This one is one of my faves by you! It's so emotional I was nearly in tears. The lines "Cause although the fall will kill me,
At least for a moment I will fly..." is so beautifully written.

This might be one of the best poems you have ever written. The last stanza was amazing. The whole poem was amazing. What else can I say? GREAT JOB!
