Almost A Phoenix

by Momentary Relapse   Nov 9, 2005

The gray shadows alight
Dancing with forked tongues
My heart has died tonight, again
The ashes of its love...
That is how it's been
All these years of deceit and hate
Burning away my existance
Leaving behind only cold ashes

But once more I arise
I spread my mind against the gray
Like the phoenix I live again
Born from the ashes of my demise
To be almost revitalized, alive

This cycle of our dreams
My love...my heart...burn away
As it falls again into the flames
I am consumed from without
Dying and falling
Destroyed back to ashes
This love...dead lies blackened
Failure of the warrior reborn

Once more I am reborn
ALmost like a phoenix, I live again
This time I will not fall
No more ahses of a dying ember
Farewell for I am almost alive
I will not be the phoenix this time
