Pull Out My Stitches

Pull out the stitches, one by one,
The warp is left, it's come undone.
Destroy the memory, and the life,
Evade the capture, drop the knife.

Pull out the stitches, forget it all,
Twist the truth, return a fall.
Take out the love, adoring ability,
Replace the peace, unsettled tranquility.

Pull out the stitches, there go the stains,
Each tells a story from its shredded remains.
One reminds of the day you bled,
When you tripped over words, almost fell dead.

Pull out the stitches and lay on the ground,
Set out the thread, round and around.
Now you remember the sweet lullaby,
The stains and their journeys begin to cry.

Pull out the stitches, gone is the quilt,
Stains, scars, and stories, left to flower and wilt.
There goes the cloth, none of it's left,
Dead are the glory, the warp and the weft.

Pull out the stitches, nothing will stay,
The seam and the needle are soon to fray.
You tore me apart, eluded your pain,
But I'll be back through my rekindled remains.
