Have you seen me truly happy?
Have you seen me truly smile?
No I don't mean all that time ago
But in the last short while?

No, I didn't think so
For no longer is there joy
It's gone away, faded out
That happy little boy

Have you heard my silence?
Have you seen me alone?
With my heart upon my sleeve
As the pain has grown.

How can you hear silence?
But it has been there
The words that I can't say
Do you even care?

Have you seen me shiver?
Have you seen my pain?
Have you seen me walking,
Crying in the rain?

These things I do too often
As no doubt you'll know
And when these things happen
Its then I need to go

Have you seen my knuckles?
And the bruises that I bear?
All of my depression
And the badges that I wear?

Though you might have seen some
The others they are hidden
For only pain brings me to life
And my body does as bidden

Have you seen me thinking?
Watched as my brain works?
Thoughts of death and ending
These thoughts I cannot shirk

No way that you could have
For these things are in my head
These thoughts that do torment me
And my wishing I was dead.
