Last Given Breathe

by Alex   Nov 10, 2005

I hold your hand
As tight as I can
But my energy has a limit
I lay down in a coffin
My gown black and white
A rose sits on my chest
It is time to say "Good-night"
I ask for one last breath
To say a few words
"I love you, dear"
Now I must leave the world
I'll sit upon a delicate feather
And watch over you from above
I wish my depart wasn't my last
How slow life goes it may seem
But the time travels fast
To me, now, life appears as a dream
My given breath is my last

My skin so white and pale
How did my body come to fail?
I close my eyes and bind them together
I sit upon my delicate feather
I'll watch over your soul
I wish my depart wasn't my last
I wish I wasn't to go
My given breath is used up
Blood tears drip down my face
It seems life is a challenge
One quite like a race
You race to the finish line
Which is across the world
But your body can give in at any time
And then you will die
But even if you make it
To the finish line
Your heart will stop
So why waste your time?
My last given breath can tell you to watch out
But now I have left
Please, never forget me
And cherish my last given breath
