Sunrise

A locket came
As a surprise
As my hands drew open
And I closed my eyes.

Ironically, I didn't scream
I didn't jolt, or
Jump and cry; it seems
I stared with distant eyes

Why, you asked
Did I seem so sad
Was the present, you asked,
A little too- "fad"

The very words,glistened
A sunny way through drops of rain
When truth was so near
Why would one fain?

I faithed it right
To lead my way
With a gleaming smile
On a face yet dismayed

Were it really lies
I can not say
All I did was want
And all I wanted fades.
