Last Breath

by the one you forgot   Nov 11, 2005

Take one last breath
Before you dive underwater,
Never to be seen or heard from again.
Forget this life,
Leave it all behind,
Except for your one last breath.

Breathe in, breathe out.
The only thing constant in this life.
Because once the cycle is broken,
This life has ended.
So much change,
It’s tearing me apart.
It’s obvious, my pain.
But no one can see it.
Even though they keep their eyes open.
Take one last breath,
And leave forever.

Loss after loss,
Hurt after hurt.
No one can see my pain,
No one knows it's there.
But it's there,
And I’m pointing fingers to blame.
Not my fault this life exists.
It’s not my fault,
I scream it out,
But everyone gives me the blame.

So be lucky,
Because with your one last breath,
You can dive deep,
Deep underwater.
And escape all the pain,
All the blame,
All the hurt,
All the lies.
So go underwater,
Your early grave,
Take one last thing to remember us by,
Your one last breath.

But soon that will wear out,
You one, tiny, last breath,
And forever underwater you will stay.
A hell to some,
An early grave to you,
A place where you escaped,
A place where none can touch you,
Because all you took with you
Is that one last breath.

That one last breath just ran out.
