Lemonade

by Princess09   Nov 15, 2005

When life hands you lemons,
Make lemonade!
And when you can't beat them,
Join their Parade!

What if you don't like lemonade?
And you don't want to join?
What if you can't choose?
And you don't trust the flip of a coin?

What if you were happy?
And everything was alright?
Then one day it was gone,
Everything in sight?

What if you were lonely?
And had no one to love?
Everyone you did left,
And some flew above?

What if you loved him?
But he didn't love you?
He used to,
But now is with someone new?

What if your world turned upside down?
And nothing was the same?
What if your world turned black,
And you were to blame?

What if you cried every night?
And became depressed?
You knew life was h e l l?
And that you confessed?

What if this was your life?
Would you make lemonade?
Would you join everyone's circus?
Or hide in the shade?

Turning a fmous quote into a poem is a hard thing to do without ruining the quote. But you pulled it off nicely. Great work.

    Peace. [Sole]

I love the metaphor in this. the whole uephamism of lemodand and everything. the message was good too. the flow was very fast paced in the beginning then it seemed to get serious so it calmed down. i really liked that.
