My delusion

by SammiBABY   Nov 15, 2005

You walk into my empty world
Through glass sliding doors,
You have been in my heart forever,
I keep wishing that I'm in yours.

We're at my place eating sushi,
Freely making conversation,
When we talk about love
My heart trembles with elation.

You ask me who I truly love,
So I reveal your name,
You smile at me fondly
And tell me you feel the same.

My hands shake on the table,
I've wanted this so much,
You wrap your arms around me,
And our lips almost touch.

But without thinking I pull back,
I've dreamt forever of kissing you,
I've wanted this for so long,
I need to make sure you want it too.

You tell me that you are certain,
That I'm all you need for bliss,
I sweep my hands across your back,
And take our beautiful first kiss.

Suddenly life is perfected,
I'm holding the most gorgeous girl ever
She's flawless and I have her,
I could go on holding her forever.

But without warning I'm dizzy,
I close my eyes feeling so unwell,
I find myself in my own room,
Feeling worse than anyone can tell.

I had it all, I saw perfection,
In my pure, complete illusion.
And though I know it'll never be real,
I'm happy holding onto this delusion.
