To Greg and Darren

Two hearts of gold stopped beating
That second you passed away
Our wonderful life seems fleeting
Just memories since that frightful day

Two everlasting diamonds left this mortal Earth
Now only imprints on our minds remain of our former life
Precious few were the years from the day of your joyous birth
I am your very proud mother and your everloving wife

Two treasured human beings of a very special kind
Men, loyal, thoughtful and understanding
Are sadly gone and Ive been left behind
To live heartbroken and floundering

Two rare and brilliant jewels shared their lives with me
So many saw the goodness in the hearts of my dear men
I revel in thoughts of them and our past history
Ours was a special time but their lives were taken from them

Two soaring eagles have spread their wings and flown
Reluctantly they left this Earth for good
In another reality I believe they freely roam
They would be with us here today if only they could

I believe this is the only poem that has ever made me start to cry... and it's definitely the best I have ever read. I am so sorry to hear about your son and husband... but they're looking down at you with a smile because they are proud to have known such a wonderful person. They're always with you, even if you can't see them.
You are an amazing writer... keep up the great work
