Haunted Mirror

by **Just Her**   Nov 17, 2005

Every corner in this old house
Reminds me of who we used to be
A white picket fence, a welcome door mat
Flowers blooming by the old oak tree

Inside the carpets were kept clean
Cozy couches and big comfy chairs
Plants alive and vividly green
Comforting hallways and busy stairs

Now this place feels so different
The flowers have died, and the paint has chipped
Hallways are long and dark, stairs are old and rusted
The couches and chairs are ripped

Everything I used to feel aged when you left
Now I live in cob webs and a mess
I'd rather look the way I feel
Then look and feel my best

Every corner of this house has a memory
One that I long to forget and disappear
The colours have faded and as have I
This place has become my haunting mirror
