Are You Alive?

by k i k i   Nov 17, 2005

Footprints of those who are lost,
Lay upon the shore of the waters edge.
Sand covering the scars that were evident,
A cold kiss of poison running deep.
Skin in vein, sticking pins into the surface,
Are you alive?

Snakes wrap around the broken arms,
Sticking teeth into blood.
Slithering along the outside,
They want you inside.
Sight deadly, one quick glimpse,
Another shot in the dark.

Heart pounding faster every moment,
I can hardly shake the feeling.
One a plane, will I return
To you? To this place?
I don’t want to say goodbye to you,
Or the body that lies on shoreline.
