Sorting Through It All

by Bill Turner   Nov 17, 2005

As I pack your things
I am struck with the thought
Aside from my son
There exist no good memories

No laughter that was sincere
All the smiles were forced
Darkness was everywhere
For twenty three years

I feel no sorrow
Sorting through it all
The thought in my head
Why did you do this to my son?

Smiling I realize
I have laughed more
Been truly happy
Since Stephanie came into my life

In one short year
She has given me a lifetime
In a few months
She has become his mom

Our life dedicated to love
Taking care of each other
He has become "our" son
Choosing her as his mother

We see what family is
Now we understand
Smiles and laughter
Hearts filled with love

I am so happy for you! I've read both poems that you suggested in the thread you started about the divorce section. I wish you and your son nothing but happiness from here on out!
    Beautifully conveyed! Take care....Holly
