The Flame of a Candle

by Ren   Nov 17, 2005

The light flickers wildly,
The sparks threaten to burn,
It's the light of a candle,
That the darkness yearns.

Such gracefulness as it dances,
Such wise words it does speak,
Slowly and softly,
To the one's who are weak.

The flame of a candle,
Brings such peace to one's eyes,
It burns away their pain,
And dries up the tears they cry.

Dancing as one,
We will praise this fire,
For it keeps the monsters away,
Something we all desire.

The soulless fall back,
And the greedy surrender,
Because this flame,
Is a light to remember.

Burn through the darkness,
Break through the tears,
It will be around,
For many years.

If you believe in the wish,
Of a fallen star,
Come to its light,
You'll know who you are.

The flame of a candle,
Brings peace to such cries,
It's the guardian of lost souls,
And the keeper of many lies.
