Matthew\'s death

by kArMiLa   Nov 18, 2005

***its based on the book Anne of Green Gables based from Anne's perspective***
Oh my dear Matthew
The grief that I'm feeling is hard to overcome
Even though I know you are up in heaven
Being the kindred spirit that you are
My dear Matthew, why did you have to leave so soon?
Marilla will be terribly lonesome once I'm gone
I hope she's doing fine.
Your death it came as if it was a feather
A feather just gracefully falling to the floor
When evening came it was time to go to your funeral
Oh Matthew as Mr. Allan prayed for you
I couldn't cry, I don't know why
But Diana, Oh was she ever crying.
A lot of people came
None of them was crying
I know they were just showing respect
I'm not sure if Mrs. Lynde could ever cry
Your funeral was nice and quiet
My dear Matthew, this sorrow is hard to prevail over
But...
Life must go on
Matthew I love you forever more
I will never forget your kindred spirit
Matthew, life will be different without you
But..
Life must go on...
