A Bird's Filthy Lie

by lisa marie   Nov 18, 2005

There's a story i have read
About a bird and a filthy lie
Who slept in a water bed
Whose wings would spread across the sky,
His voice was heard all throughout,
The world in an awful drought.
And he sang a song about the rain
All the animals would "soon" attain.

But that song was purposely misspoken
And a promise was soon to be broken,
while the bird flew over head,
all the animals who could not fly
And there's a story i have read
About a bird and a filthy lie

He told the animals it'd be okay
Soon they could go out and play
That bird had them sing a long
Although he knew he was wrong
The water was within his eyes
That he spoke about, through his lies
And all the animals were soon dead
Except the bird in the sky
And there's a story that I've read
About a bird and a filthy lie

And this bird did not care
About what happened everywhere
He just kept his wings out
Ignoring the world drought
And he was all alone
Only if he would have known
How sad it is to have no friends
Maybe he would have made amends
And corrected his loathsome lie
To all the animals who are dead
And there's a story i have read
About a bird and a filthy lie

Now this bird is feeling depressed
Full of guilt and always stressed
They all believed him without a doubt
To find the water and fix the drought
But this bird told a filthy lie
That in the end only made him cry
And mother earth soon unfurled
While tears wrapped around the world
The trees, grass and flowers bloomed
And the drought was consumed
By the birds falling tears
That rained upon the earth for years
And now the animals happily rely
On the bird in his water bed
And that's the story that I've read
About the bird and his filthy lie
