Her story

Destined for success was this precious baby,
Born to Lea and Denis, named after ‘Delta Lady’.
Took up piano and singing at an early stage.
Didn’t know where it would take her at this early age.
She was talented; she could write, act and sing,
She played basketball and skied, she could do anything.
She wrote her songs, played her sport and got jobs on TV,
But it was time to make the choice of what she was going to be.
She followed her heart and her soul; to sing a pretty song,
And searched for an agent; looking hard and long.
And she found one and though she felt unsure,
Her single ‘I don’t care’ was soon in the store.
But it didn’t work out, nothing was well,
The talent was there but the track didn’t sell.
Things seemed sad; the world had gotten meaner,
Until he got a job playing a girl named Nina.
The show was a blessing she soon found out why,
Nina was a singer too and sang Delta’s song ‘Born to try’
And it was a massive hit, shot quickly to number one,
Delta had a hit! This song had really won!
And three months later another song rose in the same way,
‘Lost without you’ her second hit, had people listening to what she’d say.
And then her album goes to stores and people rush to buy,
An album with positive songs and ones that make you cry.
And another song shots straight to number one,
Delta’s life is perfect, she’s having so much fun.

But then comes a horrible day, the awful July the 8th,
When everyone questions life’s cruelty and let go of faith.
Her bags where packed to break into the U.S,
When Delta was diagnosed with cancer, a horrid test,
And everyone cried because after 18 positive years,
An angel was forced into facing her fears.
So she released one more song and turned to the cure,
Trying to get through this mess, remaining mature.
And though timing was bad, she took the treatment okay,
Scoring more number ones and many awards along the way.
And while she is fighting so hard just to get well,
It’s announced that her album, a million copies did sell.

And she over comes the pain and when the cancer is clear,
She releases a new song and says her first movie is near.
Her single does well and a new album comes out,
She’s getting to the top, there is no doubt.
And she announces a tour, and releases more songs,
She seems so fit and well, nothing is wrong.
And her tours rock and she goes to America feeling great,
Ready to meet with her International fate.

So I wish her well and I have no worry,
Because I know U.S success is part of her story.
