Payback

by Jennifer   Nov 18, 2005

Don't you get it?
Don't you care?
What you did to her
It made me stare

You hurt her body
You hurt her mind
But what you did to her
You did to me in kind

You forced yourself upon her
You made her cry out
But what you did to her
Made me scream and shout

Payback is revenge
Revenge with a twist
I don't have a record
I don't have a list

I do have hurt and anger
I do have pain and distress
But what you did to her
Doesn't hurt me less

You may think you are safe
You may think you are protected
But you do not know
What is was she said

She told me all the pain
She told me all the hurt
She told me how you killed her faith
She told me you were Curt

She showed me how to hate
She showed me how to save
Her love and devotion
Upon your very grave

So her wish said
I will do
And payback is
What will come to you

Hmm.. I still cry just reading this poem, this is from a few years ago at a hard time in my life. Yes this is a real situation, and I think I did a really good job.
