Her little wish

One little wish that's all she ever wanted
That's all she ever dreamt and imagined
All she every thought about
This little wish consumed her
Lots of kids wished for a new bike or a trip to Disneyland
Not her she had wanted this all her life
She had tried many times before but no one understood
They all thought she was silly or ungrateful
They all took her little wish for granted
She thought to herself why didn't anyone want to give her, her wish
Was in because she was bad and worthless
Or useless and hopeless
Was in because she didn't deserve it
Or she just didn't matter
She really, really wanted her little wish
But knew it would never happen
No matter how many times you
See a shooting star
Or how many times you
Make a Wish at [11: 11]
No matter how many coins you
Throw into a fountain
Or the number of fingers u cross
If it's not (- MEANT T0 BE -)
It will N E V E R happen
Every time she tried to make her wish come true
She'd end up being hurt and cut up
They used to touch her all over
She could never get them to stop
They said this is what is meant to happen
She thought it was the only way
That's how badly she wanted her little wish
More than anything else
She would lie in bed at night crying
Crying for hours and hours
The pain inside of her was unbearable
She always felt so torn
She knew this was how her life was going to be
Forever and ever
Ten years down the track she had withdrawn from everyone
Scared she'd get hurt or let down again
She hasn't got her wish
She is too afraid and frightened
She thought to herself how could I ever be so stupid
Like my wish would ever come true
Because of her experiences she has lost all hope
All those years of wishing and wanting have come to an end
She has given up hope
She walks over to the cupboard
She picks up a knife
It will go right where it hurts the most
Right where her lost little wish is hidden
Pushing it deep into her heart
Feeling the life drain from within her
Whatever life she had left
She won't have to think about her wish anymore
She lies down on the cold, hard floor
Her eyes about to shut
Taking her last breath of air
She whispers the words
