MEMORIES

MEMORIES

I go back in my memory, to when we first met,
those days with you, I'll never forget,
you were a senior in high school, and I was nineteen,
I took you to the prom, and I escorted a queen,
the following Christmas, I gave you a big diamond ring,
you gave out a shriek and called me your king,
two years we courted, then came the big day,
it was the fourteenth of June and was sunny and gay,
our wedding that morning, and the reception that night,
all our friends there, filled us with delight,
our first dance together as man and wife,
was the best dance I have had, in all of my life,
you were so perfect in your white wedding gown,
that we just kept on dancing, until you had to sit down,
the reception was over, then we departed,
on our honeymoon, we were so light hearted,
we went to Hawaii, to spend the first week,
our romance so electric, that neither could speak,
so we just held each other, until our passion cooled down,
the stars in my head kept shooting around,
the night was soon over and when we awoke,
we looked at each other and neither one of us spoke,
the look in your eyes was filled full of love,
so I got on my knees and thanked the Lord up above,
he knew our love was forever and we knew it too,
I was so happy giving you my love, through and through,
now you know why, my thoughts still go back,
to the days that we spent in that little grass shack,
just being together was all that we cared,
hugging and kissing and the love that we shared,
the years have passed quickly and now we are old,
the love we found there, will never grow cold.
