...I walked up to her, sat down, and offered her a cup,
Then once she was settled, drinking her tea, I asked "what's up?"
She just looked at me and opened her mouth
But not a word came out, and her gaze averted south.
Finally, moments later, she looked up and began to speak,
"I know you won't approve of what I've done, but I need to tell you
I listened to my head and ignored my heart, now I feel so weak,
So, please, wait till I finish talking since this is all so new."
Then she proceeded to tell me of the deed she had done
And how she was scared, and from her problems she continued to run.
I admit I was disappointed and even a little mad
So I asked her why she did it when she thought it to be bad.
"Marriage," she said, "is sacred and I want to wait for that,
Plus I'm not ready for a baby right not I just can't handle a little rug rat."
I looked at her and said, "That's selfish, for that you killed a life,
There are such things as adoption, it's better than a slicing knife."
I continued to say that abortion is like murder to the helpless
And I looked at her and saw that she was a mess, obviously under a lot of stress.
"Marriage! Marriage! That's something you should've thought about before
You made the mistake; on opportunity you shut the door."
"You are my friend, I love you and by your side I will stay
Every morning and every night for you I will pray.
Just as long as you know that what you did was wrong,
You had a baby killed, your baby, now it will never sing its song."
