Capital Punishment

Thou shall not kill...
and yet we do it still.
Like domino pillars,
You kill the killers.
Then you're the killers.
So who kills you?
Your blood should spill too.

The logic is inconsistent,
and killers aren't less resistant.
Punishment is about reform and moving past it.
But how is that possible when he's placed in a casket?

This punishment pays as much as crime.
A waste of time, no one earns a dime.
Past this action there's NO satisfaction.
We still haven't evolved past this fashion.

Life, the only thing even the mother can't take away.
But it's OK for the stranger carrying a tray.
Injecting him with chemicals;
Or some other death, identical.

How do you have the right to take the life of this man who is unknown,
When you don't even have the right to take away your own?

    It could happen, we could have a trusting world only if ppl can drop there egos, which is very unlikely, but if we teach our kids when time comes maybe, just maybe we just might be able to have a good world. Keep it up you are good! and check out mine if you have a chance.

    You have so many great points in this write ..
    It is so true we can't even take our own live but take away anothers .
    I wrote a true poem about my 13 year old cousin "13 to young to die" and I would rather see this man spend the rest of his life in jail each day remembering the life he took away and maybe he would find God and ask for forgiveness...
    This is a poem many should read and see the wisdom behind your words ..
    You have many incredible points ..
