9/11 Tribute

by 6CuDdLyBeAr9   Nov 23, 2005

The flames are out the debris is cleared,
From the day that we all feared.
To remember those that died that day,
We showed our American pride in many ways.
We hung out the flags and made donations,
To show our pride for our nation.

America slogans are written on cars
Sympathy came from near and from far.
We lit candles with neighbors and friends,
Showing our sympathy just wouldnt end.

Red, White and Blue was seen everywhere,
Now thats all gone, it just isnt fair
Are all of the flags tucked under our beds?
Did they forget about all that are dead?
American husbands, daughters and sons are still fighting,
So why are the candles no long lighting?

The war is not over, theyre still fighting for us.
So few show the colors, is it too much of a fuss?
Our patriotism should have just begun,
Do not forget whos fighting and what they have done.
