Overcoming Suicide

by Rachel   Nov 23, 2005

She took that knife that she had in her hand,
And she looked at herself in the mirror,
Listening to that hot awesome band,
She would realize that everything was now clearer.

There was no reason for her to die,
She had everything she ever wanted,
When she realized this, she began to cry,
On herself, is who it daunted.

Though she may have proof of marks,
That her life she tried to take,
In her mind, began the "sparks,"
And at this, she began to shake.

"I don't want to die" is what she yelled,
Flushing the knife down the sink,
She herself, she tightly held,
She knew that they would send her to a shrink.

Now she is seventeen and living her life,
As she needs to, forgetting her past,
Thanking herself that she dropped the knife,
Knowing it was the enemy she surpassed.

Please comment, I would really like to know how I do on my poems.
