Luna

by Strange Angel   Nov 23, 2005

The solemn sphere descends in light,
And only shows her face at night,
To hide in beauty of the day,
Until all colour fades to grey,
Not till the sun departs the world,
Can this strange beauty be unfurled,
But in the darkness truth will find,
A way to creep into the mind,
Stealing thoughts of life and heat,
Casts a blanket, makes us sleep,
Watching, silent, far above,
Silent wings; the peace of dove,
Crying stars, those tears of light,
Chase away the fear of night,
And in this solemn, silent place,
Liquid music fills with grace,
And in the crystal, diamond sky,
Angels spread their wings and fly,
Always gazing to the east,
For in the morn her life must cease,
Waiting for the calm of night,
To once again repeat her flight.

Whoa! this is my favourite poem of yours so far! Seriously good. I really like the personification and the metaphors used, especially about the stars being 'tears of light'.
