Fairytale Lies

by Autumn   Nov 23, 2005

There is no horse
Ridden by a knight
Coming to rescue you
By the morning light

There is just a princess
Locked away in a tower
Freed only by one thing
True loves power

But what if love isnt real
Just a lie
You would be vainly searching
Til the day you die

Maybe its just an illusion of lust
A fake emotion
Tears to cry each day
To leave a torrid ocean

As little girls, we are told to wait
For the day our prince will come
A fairytale lie
Real for some

Wasted on Love
A slow suicide
By two of the blind
Not knowing one lied

Most wait their whole lives
For the day
Their heart will be captured
But instead its left to decay

This is so true. A deep insight into love using fairytale as an comparison. Yes, fairytale leads us into thinking that love is perfect, and a prince will come along. You wake minds of those who is still indulging in the fantasy only fairytales can give. I like that, turning something so beautiful into something that is dark and yet alluring. Thanks for sharing another wonderful piece from you. =)
