Cruel Rejection

You know that I care about you,
and I assure you these feelings are true,
please hear me out when I say,
that I care for you more than words can say.

I asked you out and got a cruel no,
for so long I didn't let my sadness show,
and now I know that you possibly didn't like me,
and that you did this to hurt me.

Some say that, and others say your afraid to let someone love you,
and others say your just a flirt,
and the way I feel isn't worth it.

I want and need to know the real reason,
a reason for that cruel rejection.
