4 AM Confusion [Love?]

by Not Bulletproof   Nov 24, 2005

It's 4 am Monday morning, I'm supposed to be in bed,
But I'm writing a confusing poem instead.
Something about butterflies in stomachs,
And hearts that stop beating, but there's no death,
Also, it seems I wrote about loosing breath,
But it makes smiled appear on faces.
I said something about floating in Heaven,
While still standing on the ground...
It's my 5th cup of coffee and my head's spinning around.
I wrote that falling has never felt so good,
And that, who would ever think it would?
But why did I write such a silly thing?
Like, that kisses can give you wings,
And make you soar up in the sky,
Until you're so bliss-filled you could die.
This poem I wrote makes no sense.
Why is this character blushing red?
It says her eyes are filled with "love",
But shouldn't they be hazel or blue instead?
It's past 4 am and I'm almost done my coffee,
I'm still writing this poem, but it makes no sense to me.
It must be some sort of dream that I'm writing off,
But it says here in ink, that the above is surely love.

For me this poem was easy to understand.... falling out of love its hard to think and read what you may have written when you were with that someone.... eyes filled with loved and kissing gives you wings.... it hurts me reading that cause thats what i felt and now its gone.... but anyway Sarah this was a good poem.....
    take care....

You know, I never noticed the irony that's written in a lot of love peoms, because they compare love to components of death. But it can make sense in a way, because "love can move mountains" or something like that. So basically, love is a powerful force that can change the way you think and perceive things, so maybe it opens your eyes to the world and you see things like death as beautiful. I think love poems only make sense when you're in love. Great poem Sarah, it made me think.

    Take Care,
