My Superman

I remember the day we got that call,
My mother gathered us around and told us all.
"Your father is in the hospital, he's had a stroke,"
My eyes started watering as she spoke.

"He's in critical condition, doctors don't think he'll make it through.
I just thought I ought to tell both of you.
I'm sorry we'll have to cut vacation short,
But we've got lots of things at home to sort."

That night we started to pack,
I was scared as hell to go back.
It had to be impossible for you to die,
You are my Superman; I've never seen you cry.

The day I came to visit you, lying there so weak,
I seriously almost bawled right there, kissing your cheek.
You said you loved me and how much you'd missed me,
All I could do was smile and nod nicely.

Now you're out and you're OK,
I can never look at you the same way.
Promise you'll never leave me, I'm not that strong.
Promise me, Superman, that your life will be long.

    Different from your other poems but...amazing none-the-less. I am so sorry for your *almost* loss. It must have been so hard on you! I hope he has fully recovered and he'll never have another one!

    OMG WOW, -gasps- I am crying right now hun that was so sad!!! OMG wow, It must be horrible to go through something like that, losing your father can be the most horrible thing to happen especially to girls, were always kind of daddys girls hehe, wow omg this is so sad, Awwww I hope your dad is recovering well, keep it up best wishes hun, xxoo
