I was just driving a little fast
One little mistake
Never in my wildest dreams
Did I think a life it would take
I guess I didn't realize
How much was at stake
I was busy talking to my friend

Terrified of that little girl
And the chilling scream she could make
Her little body in my arms
Softly did I shake
Knowing she was in a slumber
From which she will never wake
I knew that I had killed her
Looking at her made my heart break
Later on I found out
Her name was Annie Lake
