Beauty

Tell me a story
sing me a song
recite me a poem
just don't let the silence close in
i was deaf to your beauty for so long, but now
now i love your sounds

your heartbeat
your breath
the rustle of your clothes
the sound of your skin brushing past mine

sing, dance, laugh
just don't let the silence close in

i watch your lips as you laugh
as you say those words
might i taste that honey dripping off your tongue?
i want to wrap myself in your noise

just don't let the silence close in

scream, scream till the honey on your tongue turns to blood
and i will listen till that last note
that last drop of blood fades back into your heartbeat
your breath
the rustle of your clothes
the sound of your skin brushing past mine

don't let the silence close in
don't let us fade away
