Pathways- Journey of You and Me

Childhood memories, you and me,
Two young girls waiting to shine.
Singing our songs,
Getting our messages through hairbrushes.
Copying every move,
Doing our best to be equal.

Unknown of the challenges ahead,
We stuck closer each day.
Knew it wouldn't be perfect,
Tough times were made easier.
Changing in many ways,
Accepting the person in front of the mirror.

When the threads started to fray,
I could always go back to you.
Sharing timeless stories and seeing,
How far we have to be here today.
Grown up so fast,
Still we're strong and happy.

Laughter and tears,
Heaps more to come.
You're always there, number one,
I can always count on you.
I'm so thankful,
You take me for who I really am.

Seeing past the faults, you do in me,
You see inside.
See what I feel when no one understands,
Lend a hand when tears shed.
So thankful I found you, chose you,
To share this journey of life and friendship with.
