I know we all get caught up
in all the troubles that come our way
but has anyone ever considered
the things that make our day
the smiles from a stranger
or get the best grades in the form
do we take these for granted
just because they are the norm
because they aren't as interesting
or as important as we think
do they not compare to
abusive parents, ones that drink?
can we not accept the truth
that life throws both bad and good
that we only get screwed over
cos we let life think that it should
can we not look into our blood
and draw the colour of a rose
can we not share a secret
and be content that no one knows
can we not take pride
that we look great as we are
can we not lose our inhibitions
and hold our hands out far
i want to walk down the road
and notice as i go
that the strangers i walk beside
know things i don't know
that they have the pleasure
and the faith and the pain
to experience this life
and feel to life again
