Christmas in Heaven

by Hilary   Nov 28, 2005

The Christmas tree was chosen
The ornaments all hung
It's the holiday of giving
For each person, old or young
"Dear Santa," letters are written
In hopes their wishes will come true
Families are gathering
To see how much they grew
The carolers are assembling
To share stories of their joys
Bringing a little hope and love
To all the girls and boys
The snow is slowly falling
Lining our streets with white
The snowmen are being built
Standing guard each night
I stare up at the stars
Shining brightly in the sky
Sending up my wishes
With tears in my eyes
My heart should be happy
But it seems so weighed down
I try to plaster a smile on
To cover up my frown
I send my prayers to God above
As I'm overwhelmed with tears
For my little angel
Is spending Christmas in Heaven this year
