Machine Malfunction

by Richard   Nov 28, 2005

I was born on a runaway train.
I was born there, on this day,
The fuel never seems to drain,
I'm still on it, what can I say?

The drivers nowhere to be found,
and a storms a coming.
The steering wheels all unbound,
and a storms a coming.

The windshield wipers are bent,
and the rail tracks are all iced up.
If this ride will never end,
then I'm all outta luck.

The breaks are broken,
the storm is here.
This trains a rocking,
the storm is here.

Windows break, shards shatter.
They pierce my skin, cut it harder.
Headlights burst. There is no knowing,
there is no knowing in where I'm going.

Suddenly, it's all pitch black.
Where am I?.What has happened?
Heavily breathing, I lay on my back.
There was nothing I could've fastened.

Slowly my heart dries up,
and now buildings are burning,
and now boats are sinking,
swiftly planes are crashing down.

This poem has to do with a certain point in life that were u no longer have control or have any more anything on what u want and what you like everyone starts controlling you with pressure and expectations. but theres is also another emaning that i sorta included it can be either one u can see it as a relationship type problem like having 2 ppl u really really loved before and they are trying to come bak into your life and u dont know what to do . and thats how if you read closely theres actually a car and a train and u end up dying in the train sorta like choosing that person. the ending stanza has to do with this is waht will metaphorically will happen if it continues like i will end up dying so the burnings will burn like my house all the boats will sinks means any way of escaping will not be possible and all the people who could have stopped this will realize what happened and go feel down planes will crash. sorry for the long meaning ending i really put my heart into this poem
