Superman

Dad, I got a question
Does love really count?
Of course it does
well then why isnt mom around

Days went by and she would never call
While she was out having a good time you were about ready to fall
and my brother and I would pick you up
but there were times thats we'd cry
and wanna give up

Did she love us?
She didnt have to go
cuz when you make a promise
its one you should hold

but she didnt
she came up with lies
shed push us away
and ignore our cries

and now shes coming back
cuz shes feeling lonely
but I dont need her
I need you father only

you'd make mistakes
and would always pull through
when much was at stake
I always believed in you

your the real hero
you survived all alone
even when we had no money
not even a home

and through all the mess
that burdens created
you wouldnt give up yet
with your faith we made it

Dad I love you
I love you with all my heart
when mom left I had expected us to fall apart

but you were strong
and you held my had
your the only one who understands
Dad, your the real hero
your my superman.
