Daddy's Little Girl

by ~*You are my only one*~   Nov 29, 2005

Swing her round in circles,
Bounce her on your knee,
Daddy's little girl,
Has now turned three.

Tears drop from his face,
On the first day of school,
This has never happened,
Daddy feels like such a fool.

Then the day comes,
Where she reaches the age of ten,
Daddy looks at her face,
And thinks of her back then.

Soon comes her sweet sixteen,
She has been through so much,
She thinks of the time she skinned her knee,
And of Daddy's healing touch.

Times go on and he grows old,
She wears a veil on her head,
He walks her down the aisle,
Daddy's little girl is about to be wed.

Vows are said and none oppose,
Though he wishes someone would,
He isn't ready to let her go,
And yet he knows he should.

This is a timeless story,
Of a father who loved her so,
No matter how hard he tried,
He could never let his daughter go.
