The day we broke up i was glad,
for now i know I'll be happy again.
you taught me so much,
but did i really learn anything?

i didn't want it to be this way,
so i tried not to let it get to me.
it eventually did,
and now I've got nowhere to turn.

it shouldn't have ended like it did,
but i don't think either of us had control.
we had pushed each other away,
and it doesn't even hurt me.
