The Poor Old Man-

by Alyssa   Dec 20, 2003

I was riding down the road...
on my way to the mall...
when I saw an old man...
standing scrawny and tall...
He was holding a sign...
"I'll work for food"...
It made me feel bad...
as I drove past real rude...
The man had no money...
The man had no food...
The man just wanted...
to eat some good food...
The people drove past...
and ignored the poor old man...
and all he really needed...
was a helping hand...
I drove past him again...
on my way home...
I stopped and asked the man...
"do you need a loan?"...
He looked at me...
and smiled real big...
he said "at least theres one human...
whos not a selfish pig!"
"I stand on this corner...
all day and all night...
and people drive past...
as if everything is alright...
"I'm glad that theres someone...
who know how it feels...
to stand alone on this corner....
on top of these hills...
"I'm glad you stopped...
to help me out...
I can see your courtesy...
and what your all about...
"when I return to heaven...
I'll be sure to let him know...
you have a loving heart...
so pure and full of gold...
It was that moment...
that I realized...
I need to look at things...
through other peoples eyes...!!!
