Just by chance

by Mr O   Nov 30, 2005

Just yesterday
I rode back to our old hometown
Not much has change
But I see they've torn the Starlight Drive-in down

Just by chance
I drove by the house up on the hill
Where you used to live
And how I wish you lived there still

Because if you did
Maybe I could find something that I lost
Something special for which I would pay
Most any cost

No its not a gold watch
Nor fancy diamond ring
In fact it's not any
Material thing

Its only an emotion
But one that felt so right
The one you always gave me
When I was holding you tight

After all this time
Perhaps somewhere in the past
That feeling is still out there
Lord where did I leave it last

Oh, I remember now
Yes I know this to be true
When last we were together
I left it there with you

That was a long time ago
But I still felt that same old thrill
When just by chance
I drove by the house up on the hill.
